Stakeholder consultations in coordination with joint E-flows assessment for identification of contributions to ensure E-flows in Ramganga River Basin
Stakeholder consultations in coordination with joint E-flows assessment for identification of contributions to ensure E-flows in Ramganga River Basin
Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH (GIZ)
Improving Environmental Flows (e-flows describes the quantity, timing, and quality of water flows required to sustain freshwater and estuarine ecosystems and the human livelihoods and well-being that depend on these ecosystems) for the Ramganga Basin in India.
Manage Stakeholder Consultation Processes to agree on climate sensitive improvement measures towards ensuring adequate E-flows in the basin.
As part of the India-EU Water partnership, we are assisting GIZ in the implementation of one of the components of the project “Support to Ganga Rejuvenation phase II” on Environmental flows (E-flows). M4eco is assisting the assessment team in building a data collection and assessment methodology, transferring the results into consultations processes with main Indian stakeholders to identify 3 climate sensitive improvement measures toward ensuring E-flows in the Ramganga basin.
Creation of a living document, serving as a basis for initiating the implementation process and made available to all stakeholders being updated with the results of the different consultations and assessment findings.
Development of a clear concise strategy for stakeholder consultation, including agreed roles and responsibilities, stepwise process, timelines, and milestones.
The main result is an agreement on 3 key climate-sensitive improvement measures towards ensuring adequate E-Flows in the Ramganga Basin. The results of the analyses performed to arrive at final E-Flows scenarios and associated trade-offs are compiled in and presented along with improvement measures into a final report for strategic implementation.
